Στις πανέμορφες παραλίες οφείλει η Μύκονος μεγάλο μέρος της φήμης που την έχει κάνει περιζήτητο τουριστικό προορισμό στα πέρατα του κόσμου. Οι παραλίες της Μυκόνου εντυπωσιάζουν και με τα πεντακάθαρα υπέροχα νερά τους και με τις χρυσές αμμουδιές τους.
Οι πιο διάσημες παραλίες όπως η Ψαρρού, η Ελιά, ο Ορνός , ο Πλατύς Γιαλός και άλλες είναι από την νότια πλευρά του νησιού προστατευόμενες από τους δυνατούς βόρειους ανέμους που άλλοτε ενοχλούν και άλλοτε δροσίζουν ευεργετικά, ανάλογα με την ένταση αφού 1-2 μποφόρ μπορούν να προκαλέσουν τεράστια διαφορά στη διάθεση μας, και είναι αυτές στις οποίες θαυμάσαμε τα πεντακάθαρα διάφανα νερά του Αιγαίου με τις γαλαζοπράσινες αποχρώσεις που αποκτούσαν ανάλογα με το φως και την άμμο που είχε κάθε παραλία.
Όπως θα δείτε και από τις φωτογραφίες αξίζει όχι μόνο να καθίσετε στις παραλίες αλλά σε κάποιες από αυτές, να περπατήσετε σε πιο ανηφορικά σημεία και να απολαύσετε από ψηλά το κυκλαδίτικο χρώμα της Μυκόνου και των παραλιών της. Ο συνδυασμός της ανοιχτόχρωμης καφέ αμμουδιάς και το γαλαζοπράσινο των νερών τους είναι κάτι που πρέπει οπωσδήποτε να απολαύσετε πριν χαλαρώσετε δίπλα στην ομολογουμένως δροσερή θάλασσα της Μυκόνου.
